Harris' First Campaign Stop

July 23, 2024

Harris' first campaign stop was a visit to Kamala HQ in Wilmington, DE, where she met with her campaign team to thank them and delivered powerful remarks about the work ahead. You can watch her full remarks HERE.

A few key points:

  • President Biden today thanked campaign staff and reiterated his endorsement of Vice President Harris' candidacy, reaffirming his commitment to doing everything in his power to send her to the White House this November to continue the progress they have made.
  • In her remarks to campaign staff, Vice President Harris took the case straight to Donald Trump - and made it clear: after a career spent holding predators, crooks, and fraudsters accountable in court, she's ready to defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box this November.
  • The Vice President laid out the clear contrast in this election between:
    • A prosecutor versus a criminal
    • A champion for reproductive freedom versus the man who 'proudly' overturned Roe
    • A fierce ally of the middle class versus someone bought and paid for by billionaires who's only in it for himself
  • As the vice president said, we have work to do - to unite the party, to unite the country, and to defeat Donald Trump
  • So, over the next 106 days we are going to take our case to the American people. And when we do, we are going to win

Team Harris also announced raising $81 million in its first 24 hours - the largest 24-hour raise in presidential history.

Some key points on this record-breaking haul:

  • 888,000 grassroots donors made donations in the past 24 hours, 60% of whom were first time donors this cycle
  • In the last 24 hours, Team Harris added 43,000 new recurring donors - over half of which are weekly donors
  • A call on Sunday evening hosted by Win with Black Women raised approximately $1.6 million in grassroots donations alone

In the battlegrounds, there's been monumental enthusiasm surrounding Vice President Harris' campaign:

  • We're seeing a surge in organizing, with more than 28,000 new individuals signing up to volunteer with the campaign - that's more than 100x the average day for the campaign
  • State and federal elected officials, Democratic coalition groups, celebrities, and labor have come out in droves in favor of the vice president's campaign

One thing is clear: Donald Trump is scared - and it's no surprise why: read more.
